As a kid, I saw heroes in these plastic figures because of the uniforms they wore. Never because they identified with the gender assigned to them at birth. That’d be ridiculous. So, in the midst of Trump’s transgender military ban, we created a set of figurines that underscored the courage of our nation’s trans service members.
